News > The 2021 / 22 Season in Stats !
The season is now drawn to a close and the players have wound down in Benidorm for a long weekend, our resident ‘statto’ has been doing some late night work to bring the stats of the season to life.
[As we’ve had to highlight before we only have appearances and goals from when we joined the NCEL as their website retains most of the information. Prior to the promotion in 2013/14 we had no one collecting information]
So, here’s some one liners for you all . . . .
Since we joined the NCEL Ash Ellis, Danny Howes, Jammy Young and Brett Lovell have made an appearance in every season.
Brett is the ‘last man standing’ to have scored in every NCEL Season. Even ‘own goals’ didn’t score in the 2021/22 season. Also the first season Danny and Ash haven’t scored.
In the 2021/22 Season Jordan Coduri played in every NCEL League game, a record he now shares with Nathan Keightley who played every game in the first season he joined us.
See the attached table for all appearances and goals for the season.
Top All Time Appearances
Brett Lovell : 295
Ash Ellis : 284
Danny Howes : 277
James Young : 256
Ryan Johnson : 199
Andy Ring : 194
Jordan Coduri : 174
Nathan Keightley : 162
Kieran Ryan : 159
Duncan Richards : 150
A special nod to Ringy and Duncan who left us during this last season, playing 344 games between them with 81 goals for Ringy and 7 for Duncan.
Until this season Andy Ring held the record goalscorer title for many seasons, but his superb 81 goals (in 194 games) has been beaten by Nathan Keightley who is now on 83 goals and we hope many more to come.
Nathan’s record of a goal every other game and early rumours he’ll be doing a full pre season with Church (which we all look forward too), means we hope there are many more goals to come.
We also had a record average attendance of 269 last season, which is +44% on the last full pre Covid season of 193. An unbelievable 5413 came to watch us last year including the FA Cup replay and if we’d had one cup draw home game we’d have had even more !
We also had the highest crowd in the league when 825 turned out for our game v Emley on the New Year Bank holiday and apart from Division one champions Hallam (who have had several crowds in excess on 1000) we’ve the best non-league crowds at all levels in South Yorkshire. It is also no surprise that for many other clubs - when we visited them they had their best crowd of the season. Notably 400+ at Garforth & Emley and the day we took 130 fans to the seaside for the day when we went to Grimsby Borough.
2021 / 22 was the first time ever we’ve not had a home cup draw. We sneaked an FA Cup but that was all. Also to add the reserves also did not get a home cup draw !
We also celebrated some very worthy winners of our Player of the Month awards with :
August : Kieran Ryan
September : Luke Stewart
October : Tom Charlesworth
November : Eddie Newsome
December : Elliott Firth
February : Tom Brennan
March : Jordan Coduri
We can look back now and wonder how Nathan, Brett, Danny & Snaithy who played so many games just missed out.
We’ve Goal of the Season out now with four ‘bangers’ in there to choose from and on the 11th June we’ll celebrate more awards at the joint First & Reserve Team presentation night.
That’s all for now, see you next season,
