News > Club Statement - Back To Business
It’s with some excitement we start to 'open up' post 'Lockdown 3'!
It goes without saying we need everyone’s help to make it all work. This is not simply on Dave, the committee and or the junior team managers. It’s on everyone, players, parents and any visitors to our facilities.
If we get it right then hopefully football is back to stay and we can start to enjoy times again down at the DSM Memorial Ground!
Firstly our junior football teams are back training which has been an absolute joy and pleasure to see some of them back. If your child plays for a Penistone team in the first instance please contact their team manager.
Mini kickers and the ‘open’ Wednesday night training is back soon too, please contact Phil Reed or his FaceBook page for information on that.
The clubhouse will also re-open too when we’re allowed to do so. Again we can’t wait to see folk in the beer garden come rain or shine!
Here are some of the points to note which are ‘the law’ for now! So don’t try it on!
o Outdoor table service only.
o Limited capacity.
o Maximum of 6 or two households at any one table.
o No mixing tables.
o The opening-hours from Friday the 16th April will be :-
Mon - Thurs closed.
Friday 6pm - 10pm
Saturday 2pm - 8pm
Sunday midday - 6pm.
Once we can sit inside we’ll review the opening hours.
The reserves are back playing and will be back this Saturday - sadly to start with behind closed doors. There is no exception to this and sadly the gates will be ‘closed’ for now.
As soon as we know we can have fans back we’ll share it with you ASAP.
Via social media channels we’ll do all we can to keep you up to date on scores etc.
We know not having fans to these games is not ideal - but sadly we have no say in the Government and FA’s ‘current’ stance on no fans allowed to any non-elite football or sports events.
You’ll possibly have seen Ian and Dave signed us up to play in the very competitive Yorkshire Trophy with clubs from Step 4, 5 & 6.
This is still the plan, but it will only be played with fans allowed back in and we still (as above) await the final confirmation this will be in the guidelines!
So for now there is no more to confirm other than if we can play we will, but only with you the fans back to watch and support the lads.
Thats all for now folks, we hope to see you soon and in the mean time continue to stay safe and follow the guidelines!
