Yorkshire Amateurs came into this game with the worst form in the league, 14 points from safety and rock bottom of the NCEL Premier Division. New joint-managers Casey O'Reilly and Jake Boyd had signed several new players to bolster the Amateurs.The two teams had met only three and a bit weeks earlier, Church won that fixture 3-0 away. Church have been on a run of 7 undefeated games with 6 wins. A cold dank evening greeted the teams on a soft pitch.
Goal 2 minutes. The Amateurs won an early corner on the left and the near post corner was mishandled into his own net by Harry Ambler. PCFC 0 Yorkshire Amateurs 1
A very fast opening spell saw several Church openings down the right, Nathan Keightley found space on a couple of occasions within the first 5 minutes. The Amateurs' high press paid off, but also opened up their midfield. Church kept on creating openings for the next 20 minutes, but could not convert. After 25 minutes Tom Charlesworth found space and his raking shot across goal from the right, hit the far post.
Goal 36 minutes. A deep looped cross from the left found three Church runners in the box. Tom Charlesworth met the ball from beyond the far post to head crisply down into the goal. PCFC 1 Yorkshire Amateurs 1 The next 10 minutes was mainly Church. Cameron Simpson created a great chance, but the finish went narrowly wide with the last kick of the half. Church made a great start to the second half.
Goal 48 minutes. A deep free kick from just in Church's half found Charlie Shepherd. The ball bobbled in the area and the clearance came to Jordan Coduri. His shot was too hot to handle, Ryan Hallsworth finished close in on the left of goal.

Church dominated the next 10 minutes. There was a strong shout for a Church penalty as Leon Hurles-Brook was clattered in the box by the keeper.
Charlie Shepherd was replaced in midfield by Eddie Newsome after 63 minutes. Ryan Hallsworth was replaced by Reece High after 75 minutes.
Church continued to dominate and had several clear openings, but with 10 minutes to go the game was still in the balance. Nathan Keightley picked up an injury in a heavy challenge. He was carried from the pitch and Alfie Bakes made his debut.
Yorkshire Amateurs had some scrappy possession, but Church snuffed out their moves. Church continued to press and battle in the 6 added minutes, but kept things interesting by conceding a late corner. The clearance was the last action of the match.

Church recovered from an early mishap to force their way into a deserved lead. Yorkshire Amateurs put up a great show and looked a much more effective side than at the previous fixture. 8 games undefeated for Church helps them keep pace towards the top of the table.
