Match Report: Rawmarsh St Josephs U13s vs Penistone Church Ladies Blacks U13s
Penistone Church Ladies Blacks were back in action this week as we travelled over to Rotherham to face our hosts Rawmarsh St Josephs. Both teams had been in inconsistent form of late, but it was nice to get back on a grass pitch and, for the first time in what felt like months, play without the rain. Hopefully spring has finally sprung. The game started slowly as both teams tried to get the measure of each other. Rawmarsh had plenty of the ball early on but never really troub

SJR Worksop v PCFC Womens U14s
The U14s were back in league action this weekend facing a strong SJR Worksop team. Having played them twice this season in the league and cup and with both games being close we knew we would have to be on top form to take anything from the game. Before kick off both teams were sat mid table, level on points. If either team could find that win it would give them the chance to jump up to 4th in division 1 and set them up for a strong push towards the end of the season. Peni

Women’s First XI 0 v 0 Socrates Ladies FC
A decent point gained in yesterday’s game with a fairly stripped-back squad & limited substitutions. Penistone were defensively sound throughout - disrupting Socrates’ play and offering them very little when it came to goal scoring opportunities. Despite having only one sub, the team finished the match strongly, pinning Socrates into their half in the final 20 minutes and creating numerous chances on goal. ⭐️ POM went to midfielder Paige Town, who may appear quiet and unassum

With half term over, 14 of the squad were available, with just two missing through injury, as they faced a well-organised Caribbean Sports JFC side. ⚽ Match Report The game couldn’t have started in a tougher fashion for Church. After just two m

PCFC Women 0-1 Millmoor Juniors Ladies Reserves
A fantastic performance from the team today, playing with a bare eleven but showing grit and determination to the very end. Millmoor took the lead in the first half, but Penistone kept battling. With their countless chances and domination, they barely let Millmoor out of their own half in the final 45 minutes. On another day, we’d have brought home the points; even the opposition admitted we were unlucky to come away without a result. ⭐️ POM went to Abby Ulley (sponsored by J

Sprotbrough v Penistone Church Womens U14s
After nearly a month without playing due to the bad weather our U14s finally got back out on the pitch for a friendly away against Sprotbrough & Cusworth. With a few girls missing due to district games & holidays it was going to be a tough test for the rest but right from the KO we could see they were all up for it. It was a fairly even but scrappy first half with an uneven pitch making it hard for the girls to keep possession of the ball and string passes together but they

Match Report: Handsworth 3–1 Penistone Church Women U12
A four-game league winning streak came to an end on Saturday morning as Penistone Church Women U12s made the trip to table-toppers Handsworth. Despite a six-point deduction earlier in the week following a team’s withdrawal from the league, Penistone’s spirit, pride and determination remained firmly intact. Starting the day in fourth place, and remaining there after other results went their way, the girls showed once again why they are among the league’s strongest sides. Fast
